Frequently asked questions

What is The 2026 Review?

The 2026 Review is a guided self-reflection exercise inspired by Steph Ango’s 40 Questions to Ask Yourself Every Year. Answer at your own pace, then create a personal report, a shareable year card, and a copy of your original answers.

Where do the questions come from?

The core 40 questions come from Steph Ango’s annual reflection list. We have added five questions about money and AI, marked Life today. You can skip questions within your chosen path’s allowance.

Is this a personality test?

No. There are no right answers, scores, or psychological assessments. Your year card is a creative narrative based on your answers, not a diagnosis or a fixed personality type.

Do you use my answers to train AI models?

This app does not train its own AI models. When you generate a review, your selected answers and optional background are sent to a third-party AI provider that writes the review. That provider’s use of the data depends on the applicable service terms: some tiers may use it to improve products and machine learning; paid tiers have different protections. The billing status of this preview has not been verified, so we cannot promise that your answers are never used for model improvement. Avoid submitting sensitive information.

Who can see my answers?

Your draft and generated review are stored in this browser on this device. Anyone with access to this browser may be able to read them. Generating a review sends your selected answers and background through the app server to a third-party AI provider. The current local server does not save or log answer content. Nothing is posted publicly automatically; sharing sends only the year card you choose to share.

How long does it take?

Allow about 10–15 minutes for 20 curated questions, or 30–45 minutes for all 45. These are estimates, not a timer: longer answers may take more time. Progress is saved in this browser, so you can pause and return on the same device.

What is the difference between the 20-question and 45-question versions?

The shorter paths each contain 20 curated questions around moments, relationships, or change. The complete archive includes all 45. To generate a review, answer at least 15 of 20 or 35 of 45. Switching paths keeps answers to shared questions.

Can I do this every year?

Yes. Returning to the same questions can help you notice what changes over time. Save your report and original answers to revisit next year. This version focuses on 2026; automatic multi-year archives and year-by-year comparisons are not available yet.
